Financial literacy: Officials conduct workshops in Agra villages

AGRA: As part of the Moneywise Financial Literacy Programme aimed at empowering villagers with financial knowledge, teams of officials from the CRISIL (Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited) Foundation, from Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, conducted financial literacy camps in various villages in Agra.Many officials, including the lead manager of Agra and the DMM of NRLM, took part in the event.Financial literacy events were organised in Kukathala, Raunkata villages of Sikri Part 4, Bhadkaul, and Block Achnera in Fatehpur Sikri Block. These sessions addressed a range of financial topics, including financial planning, savings, investments, insurance, pensions, fraud prevention, loans, digital banking, and the role of the Banking Ombudsman.Vaibhavi Balekar, a representative from Mumbai, spoke about the significance of small savings, likening them to a pot gradually filling with drops. She encouraged villagers to create household budgets, allocating at least ten per cent of their income to savings. She also stressed the importance of investing these savings, highlighting that a combined strategy of saving and investing would lead to a continuous improvement in their financial well-being.
