2 die, many hurt as mini truck rams into double-decker bus

AGRA: Two persons died while five others suffered injuries when a double-decker bus, parked on the roadside, was hit by a mini truck in Aligarh district on Wednesday.Locals gathered on the spot when they heard people screaming. They informed the police and launched a rescue operation. The injured were admitted to a district hospital where two passengers were declared brought dead.Out of the two deceased, one has been identified as Sachin Kumar, 25, resident ofEtah, while body of the other deceased is being identified.Police said that the bus was going from Gurugram to Farrukhabad via Aligarh with 40 passengers.A passenger, who was suffering from stomachache, asked the bus driver to pullover. As soon as the bus reached Kamalpur across Jattari, the driver parked it near the roadside and some passenger got down. A speeding truck hit the bus from the rear. The injured have been identified as Dhirendra, resident of Omanpur, Shivam and Priya, resident of Etawah, Neeraj, resident of Nagla Tara of Mainpuri, and Akhilesh, resident of Farrukhabad. The driver and conductor of the mini truck and bus fled. Deputy SP Rajeev Dwivedi said, "The family members of the deceased have been informed and a case has also been registered. Investigation is on and action will be taken accordingly."
