Man accused of murder, loot killed in police encounter in Mathura

AGRA: Police shot dead an accused of a loot and murder case, who was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, in a Diwali night encounter in Uttar Pradeshs Mathura district on Sunday.The accused, identified as Farukh, was accused of shooting businessman Krishna Kumar Aggarwal and his wife Kalpana in a looting incident that occurred on November 4, 2023, in Guru Kripa Vilas Colony under the Highway police station.While Kalpana, 52, succumbed to the injuries sustained during the attack, 58-year-old Krishnas condition remained critical. He was transferred to Delhis Apollo Hospital on Friday. Krishna was a manufacturer of dresses and accessories for gods and goddesses and owned a showroom in Vrindavan.Police recovered the looted car, a pistol, cartridges, and cash amounting to Rs 21.88 lakh from Farukhs possession."On November 4, 2023, businessman Krishna Kumar Aggarwal and his wife were attacked and looted from their house. CCTV footage revealed Farukh and one of his associates committing the crime," SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey said."In the early hours of Sunday, the Highway-SOG police received information that Farukh was at Bhole Baba Satsang Ground near Gulmohar Hotel on Govardhan Road. Police teams reached the location to cordon off the area when Farukh opened fire at them. He died when police returned fire," Pandey said.According to police reports, Krishnas driver, Mohsin, was also involved in the crime. Farukh and Mohsin had planned the incident approximately 20 days ago. Mohsin stole the key to the main gate of the Aggarwals house and gave it to Farukh. On the evening of November 3, when Mohsin brought Krishna from his shop in Vrindavan, he had Farukh concealed in the vehicles boot. Farukh attacked the couple, leaving them injured, and fled the scene in the businessmans Innova car.
