US woman raises issue of littering inside Taj

AGRA: Upset over lack of cleanliness inside the iconic Taj Mahal, a tourist from the US felt compelled to collect waste lying around. Photographs of her holding discarded shoe covers and plastic water bottles were widely shared on social media on Friday. According to onlookers, she implored guides and employees of the Archeological Survey of India on the spot to keep the Taj neat and clean. The foreigner was upset over littering in the main mausoleum. She tried to stop people from doing so, failing which she started cleaning the trash herself. When people started clicking her pictures and making videos, she left, said a photographer who was there at that time.
