Modi to visit Mathura for Braj Raj Utsav on Nov 23

AGRA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the Braj Raj Utsav in Mathura on November 23, where he will witness a presentation by Hema Malini on the birth anniversary of Meera Bai, officials said. Modi is expected to visit the Shri Krishna Janambhoomi temple and Banke Biharitemple to offer prayers and address a public gathering at Railway Ground.However, the minute-to-minute schedule is yet to be finalised.Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Mathura on Sunday to inspect arrangements for the PMs visit, including a visit to the Banke Bihari temple and a meeting with the temple priests."Mathura MP Hema Malini will perform on November 23 upon the PMs arrival. On this occasion, a postal ticket will also be issued, and a proposal for the beautification of Sadhana place will be presented," said Nagendra Pratap, CEO of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.The Sanit Mirabai Fest, marking her 525th birth anniversary, will be celebrated prominently from November 23 to 25 during the ongoing Braj Raj Utsav. A dance drama based on the life of Meera Bai, featuring Hema Malini, will take place at the railway ground fair, with over 800 artists participating from different parts of the country. "We will organise a screening of the 1979 film Meera, starring Hema Malini, at Rupam Talkies on November 24. Additionally, the 1947 film Meera, featuring Shubhalakshmi, will be showcased on November 25," added the CEO. Furthermore, a national seminar on Meera Bai is scheduled for November 24 and 25 at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on the Veterinary University campus, with eminent scholars from across the country invited as speakers.Meanwhile, during his visit, CM Yogi is also likely to discuss prospects for the development of a dedicated corridor for the Banke Bihari temple, similar to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. The corridor plan faced litigation as local residents and temple representatives approached the court against the proposed land acquisition.
