Yogi takes stock of preparations ahead of PM’s Vrindavan visit

Agra: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited Vrindavan on Sunday to review the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modis visit on November 23. He offered prayers at the Banke Bihari Temple for the well-being of citizens and also visited the ancient Madan Gopal temple. He went to the Braj Raj Utsav Mela at the Dholi Pyau Railway Ground where he was welcomed by MP Hema Malini, vice-president of UP Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad Shailja Kant Misra and cabinet minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, among others. He inspected the arrangements and district magistrate Shailendra Singh and Uttar Pradesh Brij Teerth Vikas Parishad CEO Nagendra Pratap briefed him about preparations for the prime ministers arrival. The chief minister also met officials, including principal secretary (home) Sanjay Prasad, at the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad office where he gave them guidelines for the programme. The Braj Raj Utsav, running from November 14-27, has been organised by theUP Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad and Tourism Department. "The PM will attend the Braj Raj Utsav on November 23 where MP Hema Malini will present a 90-minute dance ballet on the life of saint Meera Bai, known for her divine devotion to Lord Krishna. This marks the saints 525th birth anniversary," said Janardan Sharma, the representative of Hema Malini in Mathura. PM Modi is expected to release a stamp on Meera Bai during his visit to the holy city. Two days later, a symposium on her life will be held in Mathura, and movies based on her life, including Meera with Hema Malini in the leading role, will be screened.A national seminar on Meera Bai is scheduled for November 24 and 25 at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on the Veterinary University campus.
