Cops attacked,uniform torn by mob as accused manages to flee

AGRA: A group of policemen who had gone to arrest an accused was allegedly thrashed and their uniforms were torn by the accused persons relatives in Khatipara locality under Lohamandi police station of Agra district on Friday evening. Associates of the accused also allegedly started stone-pelting on the cops. Meanwhile, accused Shanu Qureshi, who had a non-bailable warrant issued against him by the court, managed to flee.Based on the complaint filed by SIArun Kumar Singh, an FIR was registered against nine identified people and 20 to 25 unknown persons under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and section 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act. ACP Diksha Singh said, The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Qureshi under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Police arrested him from a shop near his house and were taking him to the police station when the incident took place. Efforts are on to arrest the accused. When Anwar attempted to flee, the police fired at him, causing him to sustain a bullet injury. Anwar is currently receiving treatment at the Karimganj civil hospital.Drone dropping case: NIA arrests 1 more accused for delivering weapons to terroristsThe NIA has arrested another accused, Zakir Hussain (22), in a Pakistan-backed terrorism case involving the delivery of weapons through drones to terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the eighth arrest in the case. Hussain was allegedly involved in collecting, receiving, and transporting the weapons dropped from across the international border to terrorists in Kashmir. The J&K Police had registered a case last year following the interception of a drone and seizure of weapons near the Dhalli area in Kathua. NIA is investigating the larger conspiracy of Pakistan-backed terrorist groups in Kashmir and India.
