Physio slits patient’s throat; cuts nose & ears to steal jewellery

AGRA: A routine physiotherapy session took a sinister turn in Mathura as a man, entrusted with a womans care, allegedly murdered her by slitting her throat and stole cash and jewellery from her house in Mathura district. He also cut her nose and ears to steal the jewellery she was wearing. Mani Jain (58), the wife of businessman Pankaj Jain, was found lying in a pool of blood in her house in Shrinath apartment, which is a gated society, on Sunday evening. Mathura senior superintendent of police Shailesh Pandey said, " Her physiotherapist Raghav Sharma (25) used to visit her house frequently for treatment. Footage from multiple CCTV cameras showed him entering their premises at 2:38pm. Sharma was arrested and he confessed to killing her for money. The weapon used in the crime and the blood-splattered cloth he had thrown away have been found.Pandey added, Mani and her bedridden father-in-law were alone at home when Raghav reached there. At around 5 pm, Pankaj called his wife, but when she didnt respond, he asked his niece to go and check on her. When she entered inside, she found her aunt lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
