Car owner loses Rs 4,000 to snatchers

Amritsar, February 10 Four unknown persons forcibly entered a car and snatched Rs 4,000 in cash from owner of the vehicle, identified as Navjit Singh. Navjit stated to the police that he had gone to a marriage palace on Majitha Road in his car (registration No. PB-02-AV-1684) to attend a function. He said when he returned and reversed his car four unidentified persons barged in to his vehicle and started beating him mercilessly. He said the accused snatched his wallet containing Rs 4,000 in cash. Navjit said when he opened fire from his licenced.32 bore pistol in self defence a bullet pierces the front windshield of his car following which the accused fled from the spot. The police have registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC in this regard. So far, there has been no breakthrough in the case. Investigating officer Satnam Singh said the police was trying to identify the culprits.
