Maha: Over 300 kg sandalwood stolen from forest dept office in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, May 10 (PTI) Over 300 kilograms of sandalwood were stolen from a forest office located in Kannad Range of Maharashtra"s Aurangabad district, after which a police case was filed, an official said on Tuesday. The theft took place in the department"s Hiwarkheda office and came to light on Monday when staff checked the site, Assistant Conservator of Forest Rajendra Nale told PTI. As per the complaint lodged by forest officer Rahul Shelke, the stolen items comprise precious rock stones weighing 27 kgs, over 300 kgs of sandalwood, 5.5 kgs of white musli, 6.8 kgs of gum, 11.6 kgs of perfumed sandal and other tools that were seized from offenders in forest areas.
