Defamatory comments against Munde lands man in trouble

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Beed police booked a man early on Monday for allegedly posting defamatory comments against agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde on various social media platforms.Those privy to the case said that the posts were reportedly made on Sunday and Monday. The posts caught the attention of Mundes party workers who took a strong objection to them. It was learnt that a close confidante of the minister reached the police station around 1.30am and lodged a complaint.While confirming the development, Ambejogais additional superintendent of police said that a non-cognizable offence has been registered against a person under relevant sections of the IPC as well as the Information and Technology Act.The police authorities maintained that as the alleged crime had been committed against an incumbent cabinet minister, efforts were being made to ascertain the role of identified as well as unidentified suspects, if any, in this case.Parli city inspector Ravi Sanap told TOI, We have registered the FIR on the basis of a complaint lodged by Walmik Karad, who is the personal assistant to the agriculture minister.The officer said that a preliminary probe has revealed that the suspect hails from Parli tehsil and is currently a resident of Mumbai.We have carried out technical analysis and found that the suspect has switched off his cellphone. SP workers had demanded action against Rajbhar, leading to the registration of the FIR at Maniyar police station. The police are now attempting to apprehend the accused, who is the wife of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and an MP from Mainpuri.
