Power outages trouble Satara-Deolai residents during festival; leaders protest

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Power cuts did not spared residents in many pockets of the Satara-Deolai area even during the festive season. Asha Beedkar, a resident of Sena Nagar, said that she faced power cuts at least four times a day, besides a major power outage in the morning on Friday.We can understand planned maintenance on Fridays, but a series of power cuts, after scheduled maintenance, are unacceptable. Political parties, including the MNS and AIMIM, have targeted the power utility over increased power cuts. MNS district secretary Aniket Nillewar said poor planning by the MSEDCL has caused blackouts. While frequent power cuts are not new to citizens of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, load sheddings have now aggravated the problem.
