Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The state home department on Monday appointed Thane rurals deputy superintendent of police (economic offences wing) Vikas Naik as the SDPO of Ambad.The order issued on Monday also stated that Aurangabads additional superintendent of police Vishal Khambe has been transferred to Malegaon cantonment in Nashik rural.The state government had issued an order on September 12 suspending Jalnas additional superintendent of police Rahul Khade, Ambads sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Mukund Aghav and Gondi police stations assistant inspector Pradip Ekshinge,Meanwhile, senior police authorities said that Naik will face an uphill task in handling the situation, if there is any delay in recognition of the Maratha community as Kunbhis.Prior to the suspension orders, the then Jalna superintendent of police Tushar Doshi was sent on compulsory leave and state reserve police force, Pune commandant Shailesh Balkawade was given additional charge of Jalna. The post of Jalna additional superintendent of police is currently lying vacant.The state home department had held Khade, Aghav and Ekshinge responsible for the lathicharge on the agitators belonging to the Maratha community in Antarwali Sarati village of Ambad tehsil in Jalna on September 1 and issued suspension orders on September 12.The two suspension orders signed by the home departments deputy secretary Chetan Nikam unanimously stated that prima facie it appeared that the said officers violated the Maharashtra Civil Service (conduct) Rules, 1979 by misusing their positions as public servants. The third order suspending Ekshinge was passed by additional director general of police (administration) Nikhil Gupta.The first two orders for Khade and Aghav stated that the duo being class-I officers, have prima facie abused their posts despite having knowledge of the law for which detailed disciplinary proceedings would be initiated in accordance with the law.Three independent orders suspending these police officers were issued within hours of chief minister Eknath Shinde announcing their suspension on September 11, after holding an all-party meeting to address the issue of Maratha reservation.We also published the following articles recentlyJalna police raid 1 acre mature marijuana farmPolice in Jalna district, Maharashtra, raided a farm and discovered an acre of fully-grown marijuana plants estimated to be worth crores of rupees. Thackeray is visiting Madhya Pradesh for an event organized by Congress leader Kamal Nath, where a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is being installed. He also hinted at the possibility of Shiv Sena fielding candidates in Madhya Pradesh.State police HQ cancels leaves of all personnel till September 30The state police headquarters in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has ordered the cancellation of all leaves, except for weekly-offs and medical leaves, for police personnel until September 30. The directive aims to ensure proper law and order during the ongoing festive season. The cancellation of leaves is also motivated by the increasing incidents of communal violence triggered by misuse of social media. The order applies to various departments, including the Railway Protection Force and the State Intelligence. The move is essential to maintain peace and order during Ganeshotsav and Eid-e-Milad celebrations.
