Ticketless passengers assault hawkers on Tapovan Express

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A group of ticketless passengers created a nuisance on the Mumbai-Nanded Tapovan Express on Thursday afternoon, leading to minor clashes and altercations with fellow passengers and hawkers.According to bystanders and eyewitnesses, trouble began when the group engaged in arguments over being seated on reserved seats without a valid ticket.Railway activist Raj Somani said the group boarded the train in Manmad. As per bystanders, the group was travelling without a ticket and sitting on reserved seats, leading to heated arguments. The group also entered into a brawl with on-board hawkers, which worsened the situation, Somani said.The altercation got more heated when the train arrived at Lasur station.No formal complaint has been lodged with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP).RPF inspector Paramvir Singh and GRP inspector Ganesh Salvi, both confirmed the non-receipt of the complaint. We learnt only about chain-pulling on the Tapovan Express at Lasur station.
