Hunger strikes in each village, warns Jarange

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Saturday announced that starting Sunday, Maratha community members will start hunger strikes, including indefinite hunger strikes, in every village across Maharashtra.He warned the state government to not underestimate the determination and will power of the Maratha community.Jarange said: If anything happens to any member of the community, the state government will be held responsible.Jarange, whose fast-unto-death entered the fourth day on Saturday, was visibly weak.He refused to get examined by a team of doctors that reached the Antarwali Sarati village.He even turned down superintendent of police Shailesh Balkawade and collector Shrikrishna Panchals request to get screened by the doctors.He alleged that chief minister Eknath Shinde is being pressured to not to give reservation to the Maratha community. The Supreme Court admitting the state governments curative petition on Maratha reservation has provided hope for the community. The government has formed a committee to issue Kunbi certificates to Maratha community members. Shinde emphasized that the opposition should provide suggestions instead of politicizing the issue.
