Tehsildar arrives late to venue; vehicle attacked

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha community members, who have been targeting politicians vehicles and imposing ban on their entry into villages, on Sunday pelted the Jalna tehsildars official vehicle with stones and damaged its window panes.Tehsildar Chaya Pawars official vehicle became the target of the protesters as she was late in reaching a protest venue in the Ramnagar area.Some agitators protesting against the state governments failure in granting Maratha reservation had climbed a mobile tower here.Many public transport buses were also targeted and protesters were seen putting black paint on images of chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In response, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) called off bus services on different routes across the Marathwada region on Sunday.As per the reports, 666 bus trips were cancelled within the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Moreover, 389 buses connecting the district to Beed, Jalna and Parbhani were cancelled. Sable and his aides were later released after being taken into custody. Sadavarte blamed Jarange for the attack, but Jarange denied any involvement. The incident has sparked allegations and counter-allegations between political parties.Politicians feel the heat from Maratha reservation protestsThe Maratha quota agitations in Maharashtra have led to politicians facing protests and bans in various villages across the state. Activist Manoj Jaranges hunger strike has entered its third day, prompting more villages to ban politicians from entering. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawars event in Baramati was opposed by members of the Maratha Kranti Morcha, who demanded the withdrawal of his invitation. Leader of the opposition Ambadas Danve was targeted by protesters in Pune, while State cabinet minister Hasan Mushrifs convoy was obstructed in Kolhapur. Over 500 villages in Nashik district have also banned politicians from entering until their demand for Maratha reservation is fulfilled.
