Beed : 14 FIRs registered, 76 arrested

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Police have registered 14 FIRs and arrested 76 people for their involvement in attacks on homes of incumbent MLAs and former ministers, government as well as offices of political parties, and bus depots during the violence in Beed district on Monday.Internet facilities have been suspended in the district. Except health services, all other services have been suspended, too.The restrictive orders are all set to continue till further notice.Aurangabad range special IGP Dnyaneshwar Chavan told TOI, We are probing these cases with criminal conspiracy angle. In respect to incidents, where the houses were torched, we have registered attempt-to-murder cases. The accused are being identified with the help of CCTV footages and no one, who is guilty, will be spared. The situation is being monitored by additional director general of police Sanjay Saxena and IGP KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna. A total of 842 cases were registered during the drive. The police have been conducting vehicle checks in the city to enforce traffic rules and impose fines on violators. In October alone, 3,773 cases have been registered, including driving without number plates, driving with defective number plates, and driving with altered silencers.Maratha reservation protest: District collector of Maharashtras Beed issues prohibitory ordersProhibitory orders have been issued in a 5-kilometer radius area in Beed, Maharashtra, following violent incidents related to the Maratha reservation. The orders were issued after the office of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was set on fire by pro-Maratha reservation protestors. Several residences, including those of NCP MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar and former minister Jay Kshirsagar, were also set ablaze. Activist Manoj Jarange is currently on an indefinite fast demanding reservation for the Maratha community. The government has formed an advisory board to address the matter.
