Schools and colleges in Sambhajinagar declare Diwali holidays from next week

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: As Diwali is around the corner, schools and colleges from the city and the region will be having holidays from the next week for the festival of lights.The Education Department of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishadannounced the Diwali vacation between November 9 and November 27. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) declared holidays for colleges under its jurisdiction from four districts from November 6 to November 27.Diwali vacations are declared as per the academic calendar of the university. The second term of the current academic year will begin post-Diwali vacation, Ganesh Manza, deputy registrar with the academic section of BAMU said.Education department authorities said Diwali vacation for schools has been declared considering the total holiday period of 76 days for the academic year. Schools have the liberty to adjust Diwali vacations if they want to give more holidays for the Christmas festival, authorities said.CBSE schools have decided to observe Diwali vacation from November 6. Many parents said the enthusiasm among school-going students ahead of the Diwali vacation was palpable.
