Deadline December 24, not January 2, says Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange

SAMBHAJINAGAR: Quota activist Manoj Jarange said on Friday that the deadline to meet the demand for Maratha reservation was December 24, and not January 2 next year as announced by the Maharashtra government on Thursday.State housing minister Atul Save, who was part of the delegation that met Jarange-Patil before he withdrew his fast, said, "Initially, Jarange-Patil had suggested December 24, but our delegation asked for January 2, 2024 and his supporters agreed.This is not a big issue. Its a difference of just a week and it can be sorted out easily."Jarange is currently recuperating at a city-based private hospital after ending a nine-day hunger strike. A news agency report quoted doctors in the hospital as saying that he would take time to recover as there were swellings in his kidneys and liver.
