Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express was among three key trains passing from Marathwada that were running behind schedule on Monday, causing inconvenience to passengers. Two express trains were running late on Sunday and similarly, three trains were delayed a day before that. Among major trains, the Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express left at 11am on Monday instead of its scheduled departure of 9:30 am. Nanded Santragachi Express was supposed to leave at 3:25 pm, but left from Nanded at7pm, causing anxious wait for passengers. Railway activist Raj Somani said the railway authorities must ensure punctuality of trains especially when the festive season is on. The railway authorities often claim to hold review meetings for discussing punctuality and other aspects of train operations. Such meetings seem to produce no fruits as key trains run behind the schedule, he said. Public relations officer for the Nanded division of the South Central Railway, Rajesh Shinde said the unavailability of rake for express trains resulted in the delay of few trains. Maintenance divisions load leads to delay in rakes preparations. The delayed availability of rakes affects the departure of trains from the originating stations, he said.We also published the following articles recentlyChennai Central Santragachi Superfast AC Express among trains cancelledThree trains have been cancelled by the Indian Railways due to an accident between passenger trains in Andhra Pradesh.
