Duo make extortion calls in name of terror suspect, arrested

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Nanded district police on Thursday arrested two accused on the charges of making extortion calls in the name of wanted Khalistani terror suspect Harvinder Singh Sindhu alias Rinda.The accused have been identified as Amit Swamachan (21) of Valmiknagar and Jaspritsingh Mathadu (20) of Gurudwara gate number 1, both in Nanded.Superintendent of Police Srikrishna Kokate said, The complainant started receiving ransom calls from different numbers. After their arrest, they were remanded in two days of police custody.Texas police officer and suspect killed in a shooting; two other people were found deadA police officer was killed in a shooting in Texas, along with the shooter. Another officer was wounded. Two other people were found dead inside a home in Austin. The incident began when officers were called to the home by a woman who said she was being stabbed. The suspect, armed with a knife, fired at the officers when they tried to enter the home. The SWAT team later entered the residence and rescued the victims. The shooting is being investigated by the Austin Police Department.
