3.5 magnitude quake in Hingoli district, no loss of life or property

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale hit several villages in the Basmath, Aundha and Kalmunuri talukas of Hingoli district, located about 275 km from the city, at around 5.09 am on Monday.According to the district administration, the epicentre of the seismic event was 5 km below the ground in the Pangrashinde village of Basmath.Rohit Kanje, disaster management officer of Hingoli district, said no loss of lives or properties was reported. It was a mild tremor but sensed by many villagers. The incident sparked panic among villagers for a brief time, Kanje said.On October 29, a group of villagers from Basmath and Aundha talukas of Hingoli district observed mysterious underground sounds and a mild earthquake, authorities said.
