Illegal gas refill hub raided

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A team led by deputy commissioner of police (zone-I) Nitin Bagate raided a private premises within the limits of MIDC Waluj police on Tuesday and seized 268 LPG cylinders.Senior inspector Avinash Aghav said the police team nabbed three accused for running an illegal gas refilling point. Prima facie, it appears that the accused are sourcing these cylinders illegally and using them to refill CNG vehicles, said Aghav.Bagate, who led the entire operation, said that out of the seized cylinders, 39 were full and 229 were empty.The number of empty cylinders seized from the spot indicates that this illegal refilling point might have been operating for quite a while. We will probe the entire case inside and out, said Bagate.The civil supply authorites on Thursday evening filed a complaint against the three accused.
