Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Monday announced the fourth phase of his tour covering parts of Khandesh, Vidarbha and remaining areas of Marathawada region, starting December 1.Another mega gathering of Maratha community has been scheduled in Jalna district on the same day. At least 40 public events have been lined up in different parts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Jalgaon, Buldhana, Akola, Hingoli, Yavatmal, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv districts during Jaranges 12-day tour.Sources maintained that important public events have been lined up in Nanded and Hingoli, in the backdrop of a mega OBC gathering in Hingoli district.Jarange said, Community members coming together will help in getting reservation, which will help uplift the downtrodden members of the community. Interacting with newspersons, Jarange came down heavily on food and civil supplies minister Chhagan Bhujbal for openly opposing the inclusion of the entire Maratha community in the OBC. Jarange said, Bhujbal is making statements due to his growing age. What is the use of hairs turning grey or someone growing old if he has unjustified grudge against a community?The activist questioned the intention behind Bhujbal going to Beed after the violence, and said, Why he did not come to Antarwali Sarati when the women were assaulted and injured in the police lathicharge.Jarange said, Because of his selfishness, Bhujbal broke the political parties he has been part of, and he has also suffered on the personal front. He insisted on a comparative study of all backward communities before granting reservation to the Marathas. Bhujbal also criticised the Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission and demanded police action against Maratha activists restricting the entry of public leaders in villages.
