Waqf board issues around 2k notices over irregularities

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Over 2,000 individuals from across the state have been issued legal notices in the past five months in connection with irregularities detected in the functioning of the institutions and immovable assets belonging to the Waqf Board.The revelation of financial mismanagement prompted immediate administrative action, with the Waqf officials promising that those responsible will face consequences in Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Nanded, Parbhani and other places in the state .Waqf authorities also cited the recent administrative intervention in Solapurs Chirag Ali Kabrastan and Parbhanis Kurban Shah Ali Dargah followed by the legal action against the violators.Waqf CEO MB Tashildar told TOI, Legal as well as show cause notices have been issued wherever we have found violation of norms as well as attempts to usurp Waqf properties by changing the ownership title.
