The case is being investigated by a special team led by Senior police inspector Vijay Fulpagare and PSI Samadhan Hire.Man poses as govt staffer; dupes bank of Rs 21 lakhA man posing as a government gas agency employee cheated a public sector bank in Karvenagar of Rs20.8 lakh taken as a car loan on forged documents. The bank noticed the fraud when the man failed to pay the loans first EMI. The accused had sold the car for Rs24 lakh to prevent loan recovery officials from impounding the vehicle. Before the loan was sanctioned, the man had taken bank officials to a flat in Ambegaon Budruk and showed them an office in Warje Malwadi where he said he worked. The bank filed a complaint with the police for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
