Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Starting Monday, the city will host a three-day 12th National Seed Congress. Over 300 agricultural scientists, field experts, and top government officials will be taking part.Hosted by the Parbhani-based Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, the event will witness discussions themed on innovation and challenges in quality seed availability under the changing climate. University Vice Chancellor Indra Mani said, The principle of 3As—Availability, Access, and Affordability—needs to be followed in the seed sector while providing quality seeds for the farming community. The National Seed Congress will focus on this goal in light of emerging trends and new challengers. Millet cultivation will be one of the subjects of discussion during the event. Startups can receive up to Rs 1 crore in grant funding, disbursed in multiple installments based on project progress. The startups will retain ownership of the intellectual property rights (IPR) generated under the program.
