Jattana meets CM, seeks relief

Tribune News ServiceBathinda, June 21District Congress (rural) president Khushbaj Singh Jattana met the Chief Minister (CM) Capt Amarinder Singh today and sought relief for the farmers whose crop has suffered damage due to hailstorm that lashed the Talwandi Sabo area recently. As per a release, Jattana brought to the notice of Capt Singh that cotton farmers in over 30 villages of the Talwandi Sabo subdivision suffered losses due to hailstorm. He demanded a compensation of Rs 40,000 per acre. He said the CM informed him that the state government had recently ordered a girdawari for assessment of crop loss and that the state government was committed to compensating the farmers after receipt of the report.
