Stray cattle kill one, injures another

Last week, an elderly man lost his life after a stray animal hit him in front of his residence in Malout town. Similarly, a youngster sustained severe injuries after he was hit by a stray animal on the Muktsar-Kotkapura road last night. Notably, a motorcyclist had lost his life due to stray cattle on the Bathinda road here in March. Local residents say that owing to the presence of stray cattle on most roads of the district, driving for people has become a risky affair, especially at night.

Similarly, a youngster sustained severe injuries after he was hit by a stray animal on the Muktsar-Kotkapura road last night. Notably, a motorcyclist had lost his life due to stray cattle on the Bathinda road here in March. Local residents say that owing to the presence of stray cattle on most roads of the district, driving for people has become a risky affair, especially at night. “If you travel on any road in the evening, you will find a large number of stray cattle roaming about freely on roads.” The administration has failed to take any concrete steps. A cattle pound was made some time ago, but that too has failed to serve the purpose,” said city residents.
