Three persons die in separate incidents

In another two incidents, two persons died after being crushed under train and whose bodies were found from separate locations. Residents of the area informed members of a city-based NGO who reached the spot. After receiving the information, members of NGO Sahara Jansewa reached the spot and they further informed the GRP. NGO members said efforts were on to establish the identity of the victim.

Bathinda, August 16 The police recovered the body of a man from Oriya Colony near the Thermal plant. The police said the body was eaten by dogs and had been lying there for over a week. In another two incidents, two persons died after being crushed under train and whose bodies were found from separate locations. Residents of the area informed members of a city-based NGO who reached the spot. They further informed the police which reached the spot and conducted investigation. The police recovered a voter card and documents of a bank which identified the deceased as Nirmal Singh, son of Singara Singh of Arjun Nagar. After registering a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and getting a postmortem done, the police handed over the body to the family members. In another incident, a man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Bangi Nagar. After being informed by a city-based NGO, GRP personnel reached the spot, but they could not find anything from him that could establish his identity. The body was later sent to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem. In the third case, an unidentified man was crushed by a train on the Bathinda-Delhi section. It was alleged to be a case of suicide. After receiving the information, members of NGO Sahara Jansewa reached the spot and they further informed the GRP. The railway police reached the spot and conducted investigation, but they could not find anything which could establish the identity of the deceased. The body was sent to the hospital for a postmortem. NGO members said efforts were on to establish the identity of the victim.
