Notably, a number of accidents have been reported due to the stray cattle menace in the past. Many people have lost their lives after their vehicles collided with stray cattle roaming freely on roads. Deputy Superintendent of Police Gurjit Singh Romana said they had set a target to check the stray cattle menace in the city. Last month, three motorcyclists were killed as a herd of stray cattle rammed into them.
