TNS 3 held with illicit liquor Bathinda: The city police have arrested two persons with illicit liquor and one with poppy husk in three cases. The accused have been booked under the Excise Act. In the first case, the Canal Colony police arrested Saleem Khan, a resident of Dhobiana Basti, with 15 bottles of illicit liquor from Lal Singh Basti. In the third case, the Rama police arrested Rajinder Singh, a resident of Tarkhanwala village, with 3 kg of poppy husk from a check-point at Sekhu village.

In a complaint lodged by Sukhchain Singh, a resident of Bhagta Bhaika, it has been stated that he had received a contract from Hydro Power Corporation Ltd, Gurgaon, to shift electricity meters in Bathinda for Rs 45,47,556 on August 2, 2011. He alleged that he had shifted all meters in the city in time but the company had not released the pending Rs 10,53,498. He approached company officials many times, but in vain. After an inquiry, the Dialpura police registered a case against managing director Amul Gurbani, director Vinay, assistant director AP Taneja, project manager Sudesh Kumar Sharma and assistant project manager Manoj Kumar Sharma under Sections 420 of the IPC. TNS 3 held with illicit liquor Bathinda: The city police have arrested two persons with illicit liquor and one with poppy husk in three cases. In the first case, the Canal Colony police arrested Saleem Khan, a resident of Dhobiana Basti, with 15 bottles of illicit liquor from Lal Singh Basti. In the second case, the Sangat police arrested Harjinder Singh, a resident of Phollomithi village, with 96 bottles of illicit liquor, while another accused, Kuldeep Singh of the same village has been absconding. The accused have been booked under the Excise Act. In the third case, the Rama police arrested Rajinder Singh, a resident of Tarkhanwala village, with 3 kg of poppy husk from a check-point at Sekhu village. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Rama police station in this regard. TNS
