Cut-off in 2nd list goes high in IEHE, maths top choice

BHOPAL: Cut-off in the second phase of seat allotment in Institute for Excellence in Higher Education (IEHE) went high. IEHE released the list on Monday. Mathematics continued to be the most sought after subject where cut-off was at 93%. Cut-off in the other disciplines in second list also went high.According to admission incharge of IEHE, Sharda , students with higher percentage showed greater interest in the second list. “Cut-off in the first list was 89% in mathematics. In the second list it has become 93%,” said Sharda. The situation was similar in other disciplines as well. In physics cutoff in the second list stood at 92%. It was 87.2% in the first list. In accounts with computer application/taxation cutoff stood at 94.08% while it was 87.8% in the first list.Asked the reason of such high cut-off, Sharda said, “For the second phase of counselling, we had received 1000 extra forms with students having higher percentage comparing first list. In such situation cut-off would obviously go high.” The IEHE has around 1,100 seats for 19 honours courses. Seats in three courses have been completely filled in political science, accounts and computer science in the first list issued on June 9.Highest numbers of seats in colleges were available in fashion designing, geography and Hindi literature.Counselling for the second phase seat allotment will be organised for two days from June 20. Third and final phase list will be declared on June 25. Those, who registered in earlier phase need not register again, the institute has informed. For vacant seats of second and third counselling, the last date was June 16.The candidates who have registered or applied till June 16 need not register again but they must submit their choice again for next round of counselling.They will have to submit their choice again for next round of counselling.The candidates who have register on these dates will be considered in order of merit only for vacant seats available for third counselling.
