“We are going for a structural learning change in order to improve basic competency in Hindi and mathematics among students from July 15.
BHOPAL: The school education department is mulling educational reforms on the basis of a baseline test, which was held last week to assess the status of comprehension and level of knowledge in 54 lakh students from Class III -VIII in government schools Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK) conducted the test in primary and middle schools of the state and is now preparing a structural learning enhancement programme for all government-run schools.Speaking to TOI, RSK director Lokesh Kumar Jatav said that the structural learning enhancement programme would focus on improving basic competency among children.
We are presently training primary schoolteachers and a teacher’s workbook will be reaching schools soon,” Jatav said.Jatav added that the department is “aggressively” using information technology tools to ensure their instructions and contents can be accessed by the teachers.As part of improving the efficiency of students and helping teachers to update their knowledge, RSK has also started uploading instructional videos on its YouTube channel ‘Shiksha Kunj.’ Moreover, during an upcoming test, data from the baseline test will be carried out to assess the status of basic efficiencies at the district and state-level.
