BHOPAL: Rohit Singh alias Yo Yo Regal , who claims to be a casting assistant director with an event management company in Mumbai on his Facebook profile, had preplanned the hostage drama to pressurise the girl and her family for marriage. According to the register at the entrance of the colony, accused Rohit Singh had entered the premises at 6.30am on Friday and provided his details to the guard.According to the girl’s mother, the accused entered the house around 6.40am. He quietly knocked on the door, which had safety grille and gained entry in the house. Who let him in still remains a mystery. As mother knew the man, she would not have opened the door. So, it could be someone else from the family. This is what the girl’s mother told the TOI. The girl raised the alarm almost 20 minutes after Rohit entered the house. Her mother rushed to her daughter’s bedroom only to see that it was locked from inside. Then she went to her neighbour to seek help who with the help of neighbours called up cops.Acting to his plan, the intruder called on the landline number of one of the national Hindi newspaper office to get in touch with reporters so that he can tell him his grievance. By then the cops had arrived at the spot. Sensing presence of cops in the girl’s house, Rohit frantically dialled up their numbers he had managed to get from the office.At around 10.30am he got through to a local journalist whom he said cops and parents of his ‘lover’ were against them and he may be killed. Meanwhile, the cops who were persuading him to open the door guaranteeing him safety, slipped a Rs 10/- stamp paper from under the door. Rohit then forced the girl to sign on the stamp paper on which he wrote she was willing to marry him. He also wrote they knew each other for last two years, and were into modelling profession in Mumbai. “If we are not allowed to get married we would not survive.”He disclosed his whereabouts over phone to a journo and sought his help. The journo reached at around 11.30 am. And by 12.30pm, Rohit was on video call with the journo and the girl was seen lying motionless on the bed. The room was in disarray with blood stains all over the room. A wound on the neck and hand of the girl was visible. As the news of a girl being held hostage went viral on social media, reporters, camera persons and OB vans gathered in the township to cover the news. Seeing response from the media, he started talking to media persons and pressed his demand for marrying the girl. He also insisted that media persons flashed their brand to ensure he was getting sufficient coverage. Rohit started mounting pressure on cops to leave the house and provide him fruits, water, milk, eatable and medicines with the help bucket from the terrace. He insisted he would not leave until his father arrives. He said his father had started from Aligarh and reached Jhansi and he expected him by 7pm. However, cops called up his father to ask whether he would come to Bhopal , he denied. He kept himself busy talking to media persons and the police for around four hours until SP, ASP and ADM mounted the hydraulic lift of fire tender to reach the accused on the fifth floor through the grilled balcony. When the accused was convinced he was getting married to his ‘love’, he walked out of room around 7.15pm bringing to end 12-hour hostage drama.
