MP's 'dancing uncle' immortalised, finds place with Ganesh idol

This year, when Dabbu Bhaiya of Vidisha district enthralled the whole country with his stupendous dance, I decided to make an idol of him along with Lord Ganesh. If people want growth and improvement in their lives, they should vote for the party of their choice and it is important. "Shrivastava has also been nominated as the Election Commission's face for Vidisha to encourage people to vote. I express my gratitude to Chidhar and will definitely visit him for the love he has showered on me.

BHOPAL: Professor Sanjeev Shrivastava , aka Dabbu Uncle , has made a mark in this year's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations after a sculptor from Vidisha district made a statue of him dancing before the idol of Lord Ganesh.Jiwan Chidhar, a renowned sculptor from Bagri village of the district has been making Ganesh idols based on famous personalities since the last 25 years. This year, he decided to make an idol of Dabbu Uncle with the deity."I have been into this business since a long time. I know many people prefer to have idols that display latest trends and famous personalities. This year, when Dabbu Bhaiya of Vidisha district enthralled the whole country with his stupendous dance, I decided to make an idol of him along with Lord Ganesh. When someone from our own town has made us proud, why not give him the same respect", said Chidhar.Pleasantly surprised at the news, Shrivastava said, "I am overwhelmed by the love that people are showering on me. While I appreciate the kind gesture, I feel extremely humbled and would like to say that I am not worthy of such honour. I express my gratitude to Chidhar and will definitely visit him for the love he has showered on me."Shrivastava has also been nominated as the Election Commission's face for Vidisha to encourage people to vote."I will spread awareness among people to go out and vote. If people want growth and improvement in their lives, they should vote for the party of their choice and it is important. I will make it a point to encourage people to cast their votes," added Shrivastava.
