BHOPAL: History sheeter Shadab Zahreela and his accomplices, who were arrested for allegedly firing at cops and setting a car of a businessman on fire, were paraded in TT Nagar locality on Thursday.The cops claimed the accused were taken for spot verification. TT Nagar police produced him before a local court from where he was sent to Rewa jail. Teela Jamalpura police wanted to take him on remand to investigate his involvement in an attempt to murder case, but the court did not entertain their request.SP (South) Rahul Kumar Lodha said Shadab Zahreela was sent to Rewa Central Jail. Teela Jamalpura police is investigating his alleged role in stabbing of betting den operator Raees Jageera . He said police received inputs Shadab Zahreela allegedly took ‘supari” of Rs 1 lakh for stabbing Jageera. He said police would look into allegations. SP Lodha said he had written a letter to district collector suggesting Zahreela should be kept in a jail outside Bhopal Zahreela was jailed many times in past and had contacts with under-trials in Bhopal central jail. Also, his men would be able to meet him in Bhopal so he should be lodged in a jail outside Bhopal.He said he had written another letter to court requesting to hold hearing in cases related to Zahreela through video conferencing.Zahreela allegedly waylaid a sports goods dealer’s SUV near TT Nagar stadium on Tuesday night along with his two accomplices and smashed windscreen of the SUV with a stone. The accused then set ablaze the car after tossing petrol on it from a bottle he was carrying.The accused fled the spot along with his accomplices and when two constables on Charlie bike patrolling TT Nagar area went looking for him, he allegedly fired two shots at them. The accused committed two more crimes the same day, including an attempt to murder in Teela Jamalpura locality.
