"We spent Rs 2,545 crore in setting up an irrigation system for 2 lakh hectares. "BJP's Uttam Premnarayan Thakur had lost to Congress' Kamlesh Shah by just 4063 votes, with NOTA getting twice as many hits, in 2013. We even spent Rs 6,000 crore to pay your power bills. This time, BJP has fielded Uttam's father Premnarayan Thakur, a three-time MLA from the seat - twice from Congress in 1993 and 1998 and once for BJP in 2008. This is why Congress is angry.

AMARWADA ( CHHINDWARA ): Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday took a filmy dig at the Congress ad campaign 'gussa ata hai', saying the opposition party is whining 'Kursi, tere bina bhi kya jina' because it has not been able to budge him from the CM's chair for 13 years."Congress is angry because I built roads where they had left broken dirt tracks, because I helped bring light into jhuggis when they had turned Madhya Pradesh into 'andheron ka pradesh'. They are angry because this lean and thin son of a farmer has been chief minister for 13 years, thanks to the love of people," he said at an election meeting in Amarwada in PCC chief Kamal Nath 's stronghold of Chhindwara. Then, in a filmy manner that sent crowds cheering, Chouhan said: "Congress is so angry with me that they are spending sleepless nights, singing 'karwate badalte rahe, saari raat hum, aap ki kasam."BJP's Uttam Premnarayan Thakur had lost to Congress' Kamlesh Shah by just 4063 votes, with NOTA getting twice as many hits, in 2013. This time, BJP has fielded Uttam's father Premnarayan Thakur, a three-time MLA from the seat - twice from Congress in 1993 and 1998 and once for BJP in 2008. He will be taking on Shah.Chouhan pointed out that the BJP government had set up a Nagar Palika in Amarwara, and a high school to respect local sentiment. "We spent Rs 2,545 crore in setting up an irrigation system for 2 lakh hectares. Unfortunately, vikas stalled in the area after BJP lost in 2013. Only BJP works for development."Then, reeling off the welfare schemes, he pointed out how his government is paying fees for education of poor kids even IITs and IIMs and promised that no one will stay in a jhuggi by 2022. "Congress government gave loan at 18% interest. We are giving loan to farmers at 0% interest. We even spent Rs 6,000 crore to pay your power bills. This is why Congress is angry. That I have been CM for three times and look set for a fourth term."
