Govt to showcase state’s rich culture at UP’s Ardh Kumbh

BHOPAL: Congress government will register its formal presence at Ardh Kumbh in Allahabad with an exhibition based on Madhya Pradesh’s culture and tourism. For Makar Sankranti , he took immediate action to ensure proper water supply in river Kshipra in Ujjain.“The chief minister believes in simplicity, performance and not propaganda. The Congress government is averse to overspending, be it during Kumbh or government's ambitious schemes,” said Saluja. The state government will also ply special buses and requested additional coaches in trains for Allahabad.On Nath's participation, Congress leader Narendra Saluja said chief minister is a devotee of Lord Hanuman. Nath had sought dedicated pavilion for Madhya Pradesh at the Kumbh venue and Maurya had assured Nath of the same.It was also decided special trains from the state to Prayagraj for Kumbh would run during 45 days.

Chief minister Kamal Nath has plans to visit the Ardh Kumbh on February 22.Sources in the state secretariat disclosed there were plans to hold musical and cultural programmes to showcase state’s cultural and spiritual diversity, but shortage of funds and delay in preparations due to assembly elections in the state compelled officials to scrap the plan. “ State will hold an exhibition in Allahabad Ardh Kumbh,” said sources in the culture department.As of now, the state government has booked a 10,000 sq foot space for exhibition near the Parade Ground in the Kumbh area and some locations to be used for pilgrims and devotees who are visiting the mela.“The exhibition will highlight sants, religious and tourist attractions, government’s initiatives in the field of cow protection, conservation of Narmada river. There will be an information centre for the pilgrims from MP and plans to hold discourses by saints,” said state public relations minister PC Sharma, who will also visit the Kumbh Mela with the chief minister.The chief minister’s visit to the Kumbh Mela was also finalised after Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya met Kamal Nath on January 6 and invited him to join the religious festival with his cabinet colleagues.
