10-year-old boy dies in Anuppur fire

BHOPAL: A 10-year old boy was charred to death and five of his family members were injured when their house caught fire while they were sleeping in Anuppur district on Friday night. The incident took place at Barhi Tola of Badra village under Bhalumada police station of the district. A case was registered at Bhalumada police station on Saturday and investigations are going on, said a police official. Fire broke out from the stove that the family had left burning while they went to sleep as it was cold, said sources.Police said that the family of Ram Jiya Kewat, who is originally a resident of Gadhi village in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh , used to live in Badra village of Anuppur district. On Friday night, the family which included Ram Jiya Kewat, his wife Ban Baithi Bai, his ten year old son Om Prakash alias Golu, his other children Aman, Rakhi and Arjun went to sleep at around 10 pm, said police.Later at around 11.30 pm they found that their house had caught fire, but by the time they could rush out Om Prakash, alias Golu, he had died, said sources.
