BHOPAL: Dial 100 received a bizarre call from Jehangirabad locality on Wednesday afternoon when a youth stabbed his deaf-and-mute father in the neck as he felt that the father harboured ill-will against his wife.A bloody scuffle ensued and the youth also sustained injuries. The police vehicle reached the scene within four minutes. By that time the father was bleeding profusely. What is surprising is that the Dial-100 vehicle managed to take the father from Jehangirabad locality — which is famous of its bad traffic — to Hamidia hospital in under seven minutes.The father and son both undergoing treatment at the hospital. The father is said to be in a critical state. Had the cops being late the father would have bled to death, say doctors. The police team used a megaphone to make announcements asking commuters to clear way for the injured while navigating the traffic to reach the hospital.ASI ASI Kunjilal Singh, posted on Dial-100 in Jehangirabad, told TOI that around 3.34 they received a message from control room that a man was stabbed at a house in Jinsi locality near Crescent School and was bleeding profusely. He said that within four minutes he along with Dial-100 driver reached the spot and found that the man was lying unconscious on the floor in a pool of blood. He had stab injury in the neck and weirdly his trousers were burning. They put out the fire and immediately set off to the hospital, as there was no time to wait for the ambulance.ASI Kunjilal said that the traffic was moving slowly and initially they were having a tough time finding a way so they use the megaphone asking people to make way. They reached just in time and the father’s treatment began.SHO Jehangirabad Anil Bajpai said that the man’s 25-year-old injured son told police that his father harboured ill will for his wife due to which they got into a fight. Things started to heat up and the youth alleged that his father attacked him with a knife, which he took from his hand and stabbed him in the neck for self-defence.SHO Bajpai said that once the father regains consciousness his statements will be recorded with the help of sign language experts.
