Accusing the MP Government of working out of bloated ego, Congress party has said it would release videos of wheat getting lashed by rains on social media. Going by his claims, only 7.5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was left in open. The MP Government has been erring and making egoistic claims on wheat procurement persistently, Congress MLA Kunal Chaudhary told on Friday. We will release videos on social media of wheat destroyed in rains, affirmed the MLA. The Government procurement centres are established in farmlands and pictures of wheat lying in open under rains emerged from across the state on Thursday.

While wheat procurement still continues in Madhya Pradesh, cyclone Nisarga-driven showers played havoc on farmers as wheat lying in open at Government procurement centres got drenched even as Shivraj Government claimed that they have stored 94% bought wheat. Accusing the MP Government of working out of bloated ego, Congress party has said it would release videos of wheat getting lashed by rains on social media. After the opposition Congress party alleged that lakhs of metric tonnes of wheat got destroyed in untimely rains in the state on Thursday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday claimed 94% wheat was already shifted to storages adding MP government has till now procured 1.26 cr metric tonnes of wheat as of now. Going by his claims, only 7.5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was left in open. The farmers need not worry, all their wheat will be purchased by the state government, assured Chouhan affirming his government had started with the target of buying 100 metric lakh tonnes of wheat. He had even accused the Kamal Nath government of not making proper arrangements of crop procurement before the government lost power in March this year. The MP Government this year has been claiming record wheat procurement and saying that Rs 16,000 cr have already been transferred to farmers’ accounts. The Opposition did not seem impressed with the reply from CM Chouhan. The MP Government has been erring and making egoistic claims on wheat procurement persistently, Congress MLA Kunal Chaudhary told on Friday. “They are saying we have paid the farmers but the fact is wheat bought at procurement centres and co-operative societies is lying out in the open under rains and this also belie payment claims as farmers are handed payments only after the crop is shifted to warehouses," alleged Chaudhary. We will release videos on social media of wheat destroyed in rains, affirmed the MLA. The Government procurement centres are established in farmlands and pictures of wheat lying in open under rains emerged from across the state on Thursday. These were thousands of farmers who were lining up at procurement centres and were seen struggling to safeguard their crop laden on tractors amid rains.
