BJP Govt handed over everything from jobs to village development to contractors: Hooda

  • | Monday | 8th April, 2024

Hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryanas former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday alleged that the state is not run by the Government but by contractors, as the incumbent BJP-led Government has handed over everything from jobs to village development to contractors.   Hooda, addressing the Jan Aakrosh Rally in Beri organized by MLA Raghubir Singh Kadian, alleged that it was very sad to see Haryana, which was number one in development till 2014, is today being called Gunda Pradesh due to increasing crime.   Haryana made rapid progress during the Congress Government from 2005 to 2014, and became the top State in every aspect of development. Sadly, the State has been brought to the brink of destruction by the BJP. The party itself is aware of this, that is why the Chief Minister was changed just before the elections, he said.   But this will not be of any benefit now, because this type of dummy Chief Minister has already been used in Haryana, which had proved unsuccessful. The public has understood the truth of the present government and has made up its mind to bring back the Congress. The brotherhood of 36 communities is the guarantee of Congresss victory. Deependers victory from Rohtak will lay the foundation of Congress government in Haryana, he stated.   Hooda said: If Congress Government is formed in the State, we will guarantee old pension scheme for employees, Rs 6,000 old age and widow pension, guarantee of MSP to farmers, two lakh government jobs, 300 units of free electricity, gas cylinder for Rs 500 and free plot for the poor.   Addressing the rally, Haryana Congress president Udai Bhan said that the party has put a manifesto which does justice to every class before the people. To empower women, it has been announced to deposit one lakh Rupees annually in their accounts, double the income of Asha workers and mid-day mill workers, fill 30 lakh jobs within one year and give 50 per cent reservation to women, he said.   To empower the youth, apprenticeship scheme of Rs one lakh per year and recruitment without paper leaks and scams is one of the primary announcements of the Congress. For the first time in the country, it has been announced to give legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers, he said.   Udai Bhan said that fake cases filed against farmers will be taken back, to save them from government harassment. Comprehensive welfare schemes will be launched to empower the workers. To improve health services, a medical college will be built in every district, and like the Congress government of Rajasthan, Chiranjeevi scheme of free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh will be started in the entire country, he added.   Speaking at the rally, Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda said that last time BJP may have won the elections by adopting misleading propaganda and anti-democratic activities, but it could not win the hearts of the people. The government always adopted the policy of thrashing every section of the society. BJP despised every class including farmers, laborers, employees, temporary employees, sanitation workers, MNREGA workers and our wrestler daughters, he said.   This government wrecked the investment environment in the state and wrecked the economy. This is the reason why there is an army of unemployed people in the state today. The youth of Haryana are today standing at such crossroads of unemployment, from where some are going towards depression, some crime, some drug addiction and some migration. Groups of miscreants have again become active in different areas, he pointed out.   He said that during 10 years of BJP rule in the state, they neither established any big university, nor any power plant, nor any big institute, nor any big project came up in Haryana. The government did not extend the metro by even an inch, nor did it bring any new railway line to Haryana, he said.   To hide its failure, BJP is now planning to change the Lok Sabha candidates after the Chief Minister, but Congress will work to change the government with the cooperation of the public, he said.
