Two minors dead, parents critical in suspected suicide case

Two minor siblings died after allegedly inhaling toxic fumes on Monday in what police suspect to be a case of suicide in Delhis Sangam Park. The childrens parents, who also inhaled the poisonous substance, remain in critical condition and under close medical observation. The incident occurred on Monday morning at a bike horn manufacturing unit located at DSIDC Shed No 63 in the Sangam Park area. According to DCP (Northwest) Bhisham Singh, the victims have been identified as Jagdish Singh (16) and his sister Hargul Kaur (15), children of Hardeep Singh and Harpreet Kaur, owners of the unit. Preliminary investigations suggest that the entire family had reached the factory premises early in the day and intentionally inhaled a toxic substance. The motive appears to be linked to severe financial distress stemming from heavy losses in their business, police sources revealed. Upon receiving a distress call—reportedly made by one of the children to a relative—the police and emergency services were alerted. Police officials have sealed the premises for forensic examination, and a case is being registered. Jagdish and Hargul were rushed to Hindu Rao Hospital, where they died during treatment. Their mother, Harpreet Kaur, was taken to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, while Hardeep Singh was also admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital. Both remain in critical condition. Police officials have sealed the premises for forensic examination, and a case is being registered. Authorities are investigating the exact nature of the toxic substance used and the circumstances leading to the incident.
