Hry fails to fill 38k posts, will go ahead with retd teachers

GURGAON: At a time when more than 38,000 posts are lying vacant in government schools, the Haryana government has decided to let retired teachers continue till the end of the session to meet the staff crunch. The decision has provoked an outcry from the teachers waiting to fill the vacant posts – both regular and contractual.The education department said that the reemployment of retired teachers will be a prerogative of the government and the pay will be decided based on workload and student-teacher ratio. The appointment of the retired teachers will be on a contract basis extending up to March 31, 2024, or until regular teachers are appointed through direct recruitment, promotion, or deputation, whichever comes earlier, said an official from the department. In an effort to fill these positions, OUAT will invite applications from other universities and institutions. The university has created new dean positions, leading to a delay in filling them. The state government has sanctioned the creation of additional teaching and non-teaching positions to address the staff shortage. This shortage has led to some positions being held by individuals with additional responsibilities.Cabinet nod to over 69,000 posts of teachers in Bihar govt schoolsThe state government of Bihar has approved several increases in salaries and honorarium for various positions. The monthly honorarium for Vikas Mitras has been increased from Rs13,700 to Rs25,000. Shiksha Sewaks and Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) will also receive higher salaries. The government has also created over 69,000 new posts for government teachers. Additionally, funds have been allocated for repairing rural roads, providing milk powder to children in Anganwadi centers, and improving water drainage systems in urban areas.
