Placement cells in Haryana govt colleges to get Rs 50 lakh

GURGAON: The Haryana government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 50 lakh to fund placement cells in government colleges in the state for 2023-24 session. Out of this, Rs 2.4 lakh has been sanctioned for 10 colleges in the city. The total amount sanctioned also includes the funds allocated for placement fairs.Last year, placement cells of government colleges got Rs 21.35 lakh — less than half of what they are getting this year. A total of 2.8 lakh was allocated to four colleges for placement fairs.Ten colleges in the city were given Rs 10.6 lakh during the last academic year. Colleges have begun preparing their reports, as the provisions of the policy have already been put into action. Stakeholder feedback is considered important for effective implementation of NEP 2020. Under the new academic structure, students have the option to exit the degree program after one year with a certificate, after two years with a diploma, and after three years with a degree. Multidisciplinary options and internships are also being offered to students.More than one lakh voters left in Visakhapatnam in recent yearsA door-to-door voters survey in Visakhapatnam, India revealed interesting findings. Around one lakh voters had "shifted" or migrated from Visakhapatnam, and around 27,000 voters had died in recent years. The highest number of migrated voters was found in the Visakha West constituency, with over 56,000 migrants. Authorities have removed 42,000 voters from the "Shifted List" after the survey. Notices are being sent to the addresses of those voters who have not been removed, and they have 15 days to respond. The details of around 45,000 voters are currently unavailable.
