Haryana 9th among 11 states in grievance redressal index

CHANDIGARH: Haryana has been ranked 9th among the 11 states in Group C in the Grievance Redressal Index (GRI), according to the GRI rankings report released by the department of administrative reforms and public grievances, ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions, on Wednesday.In Group C, which includes states receiving over 20,000 grievances, Uttar Pradesh ranks first with a cumulative score of 66.23%, followed by Jharkhand and Gujarat with a score of 54.43% and 47.02%, respectively.In the disposal of grievances category, Haryana has been placed at 8th. Of 34,480 grievances received from January to September this year, Haryana could dispose of only 22,646 cases — 66%. However, the top-ranked UP disposed of nearly 91% of such cases. In terms of pending grievance cases among 21 states for the same period, West Bengal has the maximum pending cases at 22,613, while Haryana is 4th with 11,834 pending cases.Haryana has also fared poorly in terms of the number of grievances pending for more than 30 days. While West Bengal has 21,462 pending complaints, followed by Odisha with 19,779 cases, the number in Haryana is over 9,883. The state has also not shown signs of improvement over the years. In September 2023, with 2,503 disposals, Haryana ranked 8th. In the same period, UP disposed of the maximum number of grievances (15,848), followed by Gujarat (7,149) and Punjab (5,519).Similarly, as per the data released by the administrative reforms department, at the end of September this year, Bihar with a pendency of 11,851 grievances, holds the 4th position, while Haryana is 5th with 11,834 pending grievances.We also published the following articles recentlyDuare Sarkar most preferred govt grievance redress systemThe Bengal governments compendium of 101 e-governance initiatives reveals the success of various programs. In September 2023 alone, the department received over 11,000 public complaints, the highest among all departments. The DA&FW has integrated its grievance redressal system with the Common Service Centre (CSC) portal, through which it received the majority of grievances. From January to September 2023, the department achieved a disposal rate of 97% for over 100,000 grievances received. This highlights the departments dedication to addressing public concerns efficiently.Haryana is among top 5 states in GST collection for SeptHaryana has collected Rs 32,076 crore in GST in the first two quarters of the financial year, which is 18.3% higher than the previous year. The state aims to surpass the target of Rs 57,831 crore for the year. The SGST collection is also up by 27% compared to the same period last year. Efforts are being made to curb revenue leakages, including the use of college students to raise awareness about the Mera Bill Mera Adhikar scheme.
