CHANDIGARH: Haryana home minister Anil Vij on Monday ordered the suspension of 372 investigating officers (IOs) across the state for their inaction against complaints and cases pending with the officials for a year or more.In his letter to director general of police Shatrujeet Singh Kapur, he stated: Last month, I sought explanation from the IOs who had not finalised/disposed of the FIRs in a year. The number of cases were very high — almost above 3,229. I am pained to know that despite my instruction, 372 IOs have not disposed of the cases and reason quoted by them are not satisfactory. According to sources, Vij resorted to this action as the majority of the complainants approached him during the public hearings at his residence.
