Sahibabad to be out of bounds for goods carriers on Oct 20

Ghaziabad: The traffic police has announced traffic diversions for Friday when the Prime Minister will flag off the RapidX priority section and address the public from Sahibabad. The movement of all commercial vehicles will remain banned from the Hindon air base roundabout to Sahibabad via Mohan Nagar and from the Link Road police station and traffic signal towards Sahibabad from 7am on October 20 till the programme ends.Only personal vehicle owners, including those attending the event, from Noida, Hapur and Bulandshahr can take the CISF road in Indirapuram to reach Sahibabad, and those from Loni and Bhopura can travel via the Rajendra Nagar area. Those from UP Gate and Kaushambi will enter Sahibabad via the Link Road red light and from Ghaziabad city area via Hindon bridge. People can also move towards Modinagar and Meerut Tiraha via Budh Chowk in Vasundhara. These routes, however, will be closed to commercial vehicles.Commercial vehicles will also remain banned on both sides of the Lal Kuan-Seemapuri route, from Loni to Bhopura via the Hindon roundabout and from the Siddharth Vihar red light to Meerut Tiraha.For the event attendees, there are parking arrangements in Metro Suites Glitz, and staff can park at Gate 1 of the Sahibabad RapidX station.Ramanand Kushwaha, additional DCP (traffic), said over 1,000 traffic cops will coordinate with local police to ease congestion on roads. Traffic police will also keep an eye on the social media platforms to resolve the traffic problems that residents raise there. The feasibility report for this route is expected to be ready in 15 days. The other two proposed routes pass via Greater Noida West and Pari Chowk. The estimated ridership for these routes is between 2.9 lakh and 3.7 lakh per year.Kerala: Collector gives direction to restrict traffic on Athirapally - Malakkapara roadFollowing a mudslide in Ambalapara, Kochi, district collector V R Krishna Teja has ordered officials to enforce traffic restrictions on the affected route. Authorities from the Divisional Forest Officer, Vazhachal, the police, and the Kerala Road Fund Board have been instructed to assess the road and implement regulations on the Athirapally-Malakkapara road. Warning signs should also be placed in areas prone to mudslides. The retaining wall in Ambalapara was damaged due to heavy rain, resulting in limited movement for small vehicles.
