Delhi Meerut RRTS: Take a 17km ride on RapidX premium coach at just Rs 100

GHAZIABAD: Three days before commercial operations on the first section of Indias first semi-high-speed regional rail service starts, the NCR Transport Corporation released the fare module for the Sahibabad to Duhai Depot corridor.The minimum fare for the five standard coaches on the priority section has been set at Rs 20 and the maximum at Rs 50. For the premium coach — the sixth car of the train — the minimum fare has been fixed at Rs 40 while the maximum is Rs 100.A metro ride for up to 21km, in comparison, would cost between Rs10 and Rs40. As per DMRC fare rules, for the first 2 km one has to pay Rs 10, and for a journey between 2 to 5 km the fare is Rs 20, for 5 to 12 km it is Rs30. For a journey between 12 and 21 km, one has to pay Rs 40, for 21 to 32 km and Rs 50. For example, the fare for a ride from Sahibabad to Ghaziabad and Guldhar stations on a standard coach will be Rs 30, while it will be Rs 40 till Duhai and Rs 50 till Duhai Depot. The ride from Ghaziabad to Sahibabad will cost Rs 30, till Guldhar it will be Rs 20 and Rs 30 up to Duhai and Duhai Depot. A one-way ride from Duhai station cum depot to Sahibabad will cost Rs 50.A ride on a premium coach, Sahibabad to Ghaziabad and Duhai stations will cost Rs 60, Sahibabad to Duhai will cost Rs 80 and Duhai Depot Rs 100. The rates, officials said, may be revised as and when more stations or sections are added. Commuters can choose from different ticketing modes, be it a QR code-based one-time ticket or a card-based transit option for all journeys. The paper QR code-based ticket can be generated via ticket vending machines or bought from the ticket counters at the stations. Traffic was diverted during the Chief Ministers visit, causing congestion in the area.Paytm partners Delhi Metro to launch QR code-based ticketsPaytm has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to introduce QR code-based ticketing for metro travel. Commuters can purchase mobile QR tickets on the Paytm app by specifying their entry and destination stations. These QR tickets can be scanned at the Automatic Fare Collection gates to proceed with the journey. Paytm aims to provide convenience and ease of digital ticketing, allowing passengers to avoid long queues for physical tokens. This initiative aligns with the "Digital India" initiative and supports the goal of efficient and hassle-free movement for metro commuters.
